Employee appreciation has officially gotten out of hand.
Apparently companies will do almost anything to make employees feel appreciated except give them more money, more PTO, a bonus, a promotion, an extra day off, or anything else that might materially improve their lives.
Instead, we get pizza parties, pickle-themed company picnics, carnival games, popcorn bars, toilet-paper competitions, clown costumes, keychains, iced coffee, balloons and enough LinkedIn photos to make sure everyone knows just how amazing the company culture supposedly is.
