Smart Questions to Ask at the End of a Job Interview

September 2, 2026 · 1 min de lecture

"Do you have any questions for us?" is your chance to evaluate them, too.

This question is often treated as a formality, but a good set of questions shows genuine interest and helps you figure out if the role is right for you.

Ask about the role itself

  • "What does success look like in this role after six months?"
  • "What's the biggest challenge someone in this position would face right now?"

Ask about the team and culture

  • "How would you describe the team's working style?"
  • "What do people who do well here tend to have in common?"

Avoid asking about salary or vacation first

Save those for when an offer is on the table, unless the interviewer raises it first.

Always have at least two questions ready

Having none can read as a lack of genuine interest, even if you're actually very interested.
